BOROUGH COUNCIL BY-ELECTION - SOUTHBOROUGH AND HIGH BROOMS - THURSDAY 11 MARCH 20046.52.06pm GMT Mon 16th Feb 2004 Liberal Democrat by-election candidate Alan Bullion has lived in the High Brooms area for over 20 years. He works for a local publishing company as an agricultural journalist. Alan went to Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys and he is now a School Governor there. Subsequently, he gained an honours degree from the Open University and a PhD from the University of Southampton as a mature student. Alan is especially interested in housing, the environment, education, and planning and better public transport. He would particularly like to see improved facilities and better access for the disabled at High Brooms railway station. He stood as a Liberal Democrat candidate for the Town Council in Southborough East in 2003.
