Councillor Bob Wratten has been very active on behalf of Rusthall residents and outspoken on a number of issues, appearing frequently in the local press, radio and television.

He has, in particular:·

1. Brought the financial incompetence of the Tory Council into the public domain by highlighting the amount of benefit over-payments, and ensured that the Council undertake corrective measures. The level of write-offs last year was equivalent to two-thirds of the increase in your Council Tax.

2. Campaigned for the installation of CCTV in Rusthall, supported by a petition signed by hundreds of local residents.

3. Campaigned for improved Community Safety by holding a Surgery between local residents and the Police.

4. Stressed the need for Traffic Calming on rat-runs in Rusthall (such as Lower Green Road).

5. Put pressure on the Borough Council to provide appropriate support for the Rusthall Community Youth Project.

6. Continually harassed the Tory controlled County Council over it's shameful neglect of Middlefields.

7. Campaigned against Mobile phone masts in sensitive areas.

8. Argued in favour of more effective cycle-ways between Rusthall and Royal Tunbridge Wells.

9. Highlighted the shortcomings in the Council's re-cycling policy, and fought for both a more effective and a more customer friendly process of waste collection.

10. Fought for the Council to adopt a new initiative on dog fouling.

11. Worked to achieve a Community Support Police Officer for Rusthall.

12. Helped to ensure the re-surfacing of part of the Rusthall Road leading into the Village.

13. Regularly spoken in the Council Chamber on issues affecting the daily lives of the people of our Village.

14. Raised with the Council and High Weald Housing many individual issues that have been referred to him by his constituents.
