The Real Alternative

Green Area Needs to be Preserved in Park.

5.44.06pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 28th May 2004

Lib Dem Borough Candidate Dr Alan Bullion Comments:-

I fully support the residents who are opposing the development of a block of flats near Dunorlan Park.

This proposed development near grand Chilston House is completely out of keeping with the area, which is fortunately still largely a green and wooded part of Pembury Road.

Indeed, I have great concerns about the infilling of land that is occurring in this part of Tunbridge Wells. If this trend continues, it will not be long before the verdant pastures that separate Sherwood and Park wards from Pembury are full of building sites.

We need to preserve our green belt at all costs, and ensure that we maintain a proper balance between town and country for this and future generations.
