Laura Murphy, "It was certainly a first for me as well!"

Laura Murphy, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, met with St Mary's Men's Fellowship recently. The Fellowship invite a speaker once a month to discuss Christian issues in a social context and Laura was the first female ever to be invited.

With a title of "Is Liberalism a Christian construct?" Laura set the debate running contrasting the theological and societal approach to Christianity and whether one, or both, excluded the ideals of Liberalism. "It certainly sparked some good questions and challenges for all of us," Laura said. "Was a liberalist agenda the same as a Christian one? Although some philosophers would argue that there are differences, and some came out during the debate, I like to think it is."

Laura will be attending the Churches Together Question Time on Wednesday 27 April at Tunbridge Wells Baptist Church.
