The delays are "unforgivable" says local Lib Dem leader Cllr David Mills

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, which runs Pembury Hospital, is one of 16 trusts to be identified by a new Lib Dem study, as "under strong pressure".

The research blames what it calls "an extended period of uncertainty" around the new hospital on the

financial problems of the trust.

"The endless delays with the new Pembury hospital are unforgivable," said Councillor David Mills. "It is

outrageous that a major new project to provide decent healthcare to local people should be so threatened by the local NHS Trust's poor finances. The government must step in to sort out the mess!"
