For a Safer, Greener Borough

Liberal Democrats work hard on issues that matter a lot to the people of Tunbridge Wells such as the new hospital in Pembury.

Now in 2008, Tunbridge Wells Liberal Democrats want to deliver more.

We would:-

  • Continue to fight Tory cuts in services such as the closure of the Cranbrook offices.

  • Work to improve efficiency in Borough Council Services

  • Resist the escalation in charges such as for parking on Sundays

  • Continue to campaign against the closure of public toilets

  • Work to improve road and path maintenance including the elimination of potholes

  • Seek to improve recycling facilities such as providing doorstep collection of plastics and cans.

  • Encourage people to shop locally by supporting, for example, the Tunbridge Wells Farmers' Market

  • Promote better home insulation and micro generation of renewable energy

  • Support public transport and encourage more walking and cycling to improve the air quality of our town

  • Add to the vitality of our town by supporting local leisure facilities such as the Trinity Arts Centre and Assembly Hall.
